Here we go again. This smells like Carmeuse all over again. This is absolutely disgusting. But then again, greed always finds a way...especially when you insert politicians and CEOs who need new decks for their Muskoka cottages or the latest set of rims for their Jags....

So, for those of us who don't read legalese, let's take a closer look at this word syrup:

"Define energy recovery as the use of a non-recyclable material as a direct fuel
source in an incineration activity (for example, energy-from-waste facility, cement
kiln) or as a feedstock to produce fuel (for example, pyrolysis or gasification to
generate diesel)."

What is it with politicians who need to dress up words??

"non-recyclable material" = TRASH
"incineration activity" = BURNING IT

When you burn such "non-recyclable materials as a direct fuel
source in an incineration activity", such as in a cement kiln ( whom many -if not all- are not up to code to do this "activity") it generates TOXIC particulates and pollution.

This will again be spun in a way that it looks like the kilns are helping the government in renewable energy savings , but it's really just about money. Isn't it always?? These cement kiln companies are only interested in the bottom line than the health of those within the massive burn radius as burning trash is cheaper than the proper fuels they are supposed to use. Plain and simple.

Also, as the Carmeuse debacle taught us, many of these cement kiln companies are already operating on expired backdoor pass extensions for getting just their normal burn emissions under control - looking at you Carmeuse- and have failed to do so that in the time allocated....so please tell me- how they are going to safely do this with materials they ARE NOT USED TO BURNING??

Well, we all know the answer...they won't. It will be decided over a round of expen$ive drinks in the executive lounge at the private golf course.

And when these toxic death clouds cover the innocent children at Greensville Public school, just yards away, all those who gladhanded this disgusting pact will be long gone, safely back in that executive lounge, smiling, as they work out on the next lucrative deal that makes them rich while it gives you and I cancer.

Stop this now. Do the right thing for once.
