DO NOT pass this planning tool. These Open for Business by-laws will allow for the public to be ignored ahead of planning and will prevent appeal once a business has been approved. Further, the exemption of these by-laws from environmental protections like the Clean Water Act, the Greenbelt Act, the Lake Simcoe Protection Act, the Great Lakes Protection Act and others is just plain WRONG and extremely short-sighted. Again, it will be our children and grandchildren who will suffer the consequences.
