I am writing to voice our support for the green infrastructure asset management legislation. In our region, we are currently spending billions in upgrades and retrofits of our green infrastructure and natural systems to manage ecological and hydrological functions to protect and preserve our fishing and farming industries, as well as best manage our booming infrastructure. The Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland has been instrumental in working with local and state jurisdictions to develop asset management strategies for our region. In addition, we support the Green Infrastructure Advocates and their proposals to modify the regulations to show their green infrastructure assets.
