The Ontario government needs to recognize the citizens' concerns about safety relating our nuclear energy plants. The government owes to Ontarians to develop a comprehensive safety plan to address a nuclear accident, even though they view the possibility as highly unlikely.

I am especially concerned about the nuclear reactors situated along our Great Lakes and possibility of nuclear contamination of our fresh water sources in the event of an accident. Our water needs to be protected.

We deserve and demand that the Ontario government develop a safety plan which meets or exceeds the highest standard and best practice as set by Switzerland, and extends the safety zone at least 20 km away from each nuclear reactor site.
