I am very upset that the MOECC has not taken swift action to address the water well problems resulting from the construction phase of the North Kent 1 wind farm approved on June 30, 2016, EBR Registry Number 012-6666 . Nor has the MOECC addressed East St. Clair wind plant damage to water wells in Dover Township. My major concern is the impact on groundwater quality and quantity due to construction and operation of these wind farms.Otter Creek wind farm will not be an exception because it is located on the same aquifer. Environmental damage to water wells is a huge public safety issue. The long-term costs of remediating the release of sediments into well water that may contain heavy metals such as arsenic, mercury, lead and uranium, added to the fact that any power generated is unneeded, makes this project not in the public interest. So, my recommendation is to not issue an REA until all the problems arising from water well contamination in the East St. Clair wind farm and the North Kent 1 wind plant from pile driving are fully and publically resolved.
