Please proceed with temporary lease extension in order to arrive at a long term permanent solution for the occupation of cottage lots within Rondeau Provincial Park.

When considering the number of Ontario provincial parks and conservation areas, and the occupation rates overall it is quite apparent that the original decision made in the 1950's to eliminate cottages from Rondeau Park is no longer applicable. In reality, that decision has not made any sense for the past 25 years.

In addition, the fact that the 'footprint' of cottage lots represents less than 2% of the overall area of Rondeau Park, the environmental impact of cottages is immeasurable particularly when compared to the overall negative impact of campers and day users on the Park.
