My primary concern is the fact that southern Ontario woodlands should have a separate strategy. Much different in terms of issues and challenges (e.g. invasive species and numerous municipal by-laws that legislate various aspects such as no harvesting during bird nesting seasons), programs (MFTIP), important partners (Ontario Woodlot Associations and their local chapters) and aspects of implementation. But very impactful in terms of social, recreational and habitat values; local employment and income for landowners.
