I am very concerned about this proposal as a long time resident of this area. The location of this proposed facility will necessitate a large volume of trucks going to this facility. Has anyone at the Ministry ever done a traffic study? People are already flying down the roads, and they are super busy. If they take the port union exit or entry to the 401 the port union/401 intersection is one of the most dangerous around. There is an accident there about every week. Adding big trucks which will cause people to drive even more dangerous will make this even more dangerous, especially considering the schools like Joseph Howe which require kids to cross port union. Drivers constantly speed through the light on conference and port union and the city has recognized this and tried to play with the timing of the light (which made it even more confusing and dangerous). If they are going to use the morningside exit/entrance...there are also frequently accidents there due to the timing of the lights and people leaving walmart and ignoring the no turn on red. Both of the main exits/entrances which will be used by the facility have major traffic problems now. Please do not make the mistake of approving this facility without acknowledging these issues.
