Although it is recognized that there is a growing need for an Organics Processing Centre and Anaerobic Digester project, I disagree and object to the proposal site location due to its close proximity to a growing residential neighbourhood. As a local resident, I and many others have very real and valid concerns about the hazards of the emissions of noise, odour and dust coming from a processing plant that will be operating continuously 24/7.

In recent years, there have been more young and growing families that have chosen to settle in homes alongside longtime established residents on the nearby streets just north of the proposal site (Coronation to Lawrence and Beechgrove to Manse). My fear is the hazards and effects of continuous noise, odour and dust on this growing nearby residential population as families would be subjected to the continuous noise of the generators, digestors and on-site vehicles; to the odour of compound emissions such as sulfur and that of biosolids and liquids; and to the dust and particulate matter emitted as byproducts. These issues are known to have negative effects on one's mental and biological health. With the proximity of the lake, I and my neighbours enjoy being able to open house windows or work in our gardens. Such pleasures would not be possible with the continuous droning and/or humming of the facility plant, the sound and beeps of truck vehicles and the travelling/settling of dust matter.

In addition to these negative environmental impacts, there are also those created by the numerous truck vehicles that would be transporting biosolids/liquids to and from the facility.

Thank you for extending the public consultation period and I strongly hope that you will determine that the proposal for this Organics Processing Centre and Anaerobic Digester is not in the best interest of the surrounding environment and growing residential neighbourhood.
