I suggest reinstating the provincial Greenlands program which provided 50% leveraged funding to conservation authorities and charitable land trusts to secure important properties within the proposed Greenbelt. The program ended in 2012, I believe. While it was in place, thousands of hectares of land was secured at a fraction of market value because some of the lands and conservation easements were donated. At the time, the program was province-wide but it could be focused on the Greenbelt if reinstated.
