I am in favour of the preservation and expansion of the existing greenbelt. My concern is that insufficient amount of permeable land will affect water flow, increase the risk of flooding, impact our sources of fresh water and affect the value of our houses.

Green spaces are essential for native flora and fauna, for reducing pollution and mitigating climate change. They are also essential for people's and communities' wellbeing and preserving a healthy mental health. There has been a continuous increase in population and density in Richmond Hill and York Region in general, in the last years, however, we have lost significant amount of green spaces when part of Oak Ridges conservation areas were given out for houses development. Therefore, .please consider expanding the trails network/conservation areas and and try to connect them with the existing ones whenever is possible.
