No entity should be given unfettered access to freshwater to then sell for profit. Freshwater is a renewable natural resource but only if used wisely. Industrial/commercial water extraction will lower water tables and have far-reaching effects for local communities. Selling bottled water also undermines publicly funded municipal water works and contributes to the explosion of plastic waste affecting our environment.
