It is no surprise that the Ford conservatives are surreptitiously going about destroying what protections the environment in Southern Ontario has in place to favour developers. During Ford's initial bid for election-he stated he would not touch the greenbelt-well, what happened to that promise? Like all politcians-anything to get elected.

New highways will not resolve traffic-all evidence points to the contrary. Food prices are already skyrocketing-you cannot eat concrete and cannot farm on Canadian shield. Where do you suppose food will come from in this province? The proposed sprawling style development also does not guarantee "affordable housing"--just more. Many of these developments are large single family homes -already out of reach as affordability is concerned; particularly when wages and workers in the middle class are also under attack by this government.

Removing protection from the greenbelt or Oak ridges moraine lands significantly diminishes the future of the health of the environment in Ontario and consequently directly impacts the quality of life for us all. These changes cannot be undone-and will destroy what is left of biodiversity and environmental health in Southern Ontario--but it won't stop there-all things are interconnected and the reverberations will be widely felt.

This government is systematically destroying the province.

We do not need more sprawl-less population growth-and more in fill re-development to create sustainable living cities are the way to a sustainable future. Not the Ford way.

If it is not clear enough-I do not support the ongoing assault on the environment by this government. I do not support these proposed changes. This is not the Ontario I wish to live in and not what I voted for.
