This plan is absolutely tragic and nonsensical by the Ontario government.

The greenbelt is protected for a reason. Distribution cannot just be replaced by mew lands. Years of conservation efforts have allowed the greenbelt to be a safe haven for wildlife and a balance to our city. If you disrupt that balance with entirely new infrastructure that would be devastating to the ecosystem. It doesn’t even make sense as a plan either - why not leverage grounds available in areas of the city where infrastructure already exists? Is there nowhere else where we could effectively accommodate more housing? As someone who was born and raised in Toronto and have called this city my home for 35 years I am adamantly apposed to this proposal. Leave the greenbelt as is!
