I strongly oppose Bill 4…

I strongly oppose Bill 4 that is cancelling Cap and Trade as a tool to limit carbon emissions. Cap and Trade is a "Stick and Carrot" tool that is effective in showing companies that there is a consequence to producing too much carbon and a reward for reducing emissions. It limits and puts a price on emissions. "Trade" gives companies a strong incentive to save money by cutting emissions in the most cost effective way
Everyone has to do their part in curbing climate change. We have seen the results of climate change throughout the world including the recent tornadoes that occurred in the Ottawa area. It's great to see that the Premier showed support to the survivors of that event but we must be proactive.
Over the past few years, Ontario's air quality has improved, less smog days and hospitalizations. The Cap and Trade law was working. Also, for a government concerned with lowering the deficit , what is the cost of cancelling these contracts? At the bare minimum, this government should have given these contracts a chance to run out and do scientific studies on the results.
Alternative forms of energy (especially solar) need to be encouraged and expanded by government. You are responsible for the health and well being of Ontario's citizens.
Please reconsider your decision on cancelling Cap and Trade and opposing Carbon Tax, in general.
