I am quite concerned with…

I am quite concerned with the plan to develop on the Greenbelt, for multiple reasons. First and foremost, it is meant to be a permanent protected area.

Developing on this area will disrupt:

- Wildlife in the GTA
- Greenspace that citizens in the GTA use, as a major quality of life need
- A natural cooling effect for the entire GTA that will further intensify our energy needs and energy grid, in a time when our nuclear power plants are slated for shutdown
- Increasing sprawl in a time where density is needed; we are losing our air quality and quality of life already, this will continue to exasperate this problem

Breaking this promise will likely have a negative effect on the Conservatives possibility of returning to power. What is important to me, and many other citizens, is the protection of our already limited natural habitat in Southern Ontario. This will only serve to exasperate the negative effects of urban sprawl.
