I had the opportunity to hear our Environmental Commissioner Dr. Dianne Saxe last night (October 3, 2018) in Sarnia, Ontario. She explained that this new bill (Bill 4) has no teeth and will do nothing to fight Climate Change. She also spoke very positively about the existing Cap and Trade System. She talked about the significant energy savings that have been attained by using the money generated by the Cap and Trade System. How can this government not listen to our Environmental Commissioner? How can our government abandon climate change and the commitments set out in the Paris Accord? I am very disappointed and I hope this government will take a sober second thought and reconsider abandoning the existing Cap and Trade program.
