I understand that it must be challenging to come up with solutions for housing but I implore you to NOT open up the greenbelt for construction of homes!
The greenbelt needs to be protected!
I am not an expert on this, but I beg the government to transparently talk to the scholars/experts who have spent their entire careers studying housing and environmentally friendly options. Experts from universities and non-biased parties must be consulted, and not just "friends" of the government who serve to benefit financially from this endeavour.
Perhaps start with existing infrastructure and maybe repurpose buildings that have been abandoned with people working from home due to the pandemic.
Again, I am not an expert, but there are many brilliant people in this country who I trust have balanced, intelligent recommendations. PLEASE protect our greenbelt! This is a permanent decision that must not be taken lightly! Once this gets unleashed, you will never be able to get that greenspace back. Do not make a short-sighted decision ..our kids' futures depend on it.
