I do not support this ill-considered and backwards plan that has more to do with servicing Doug Ford’s old-school cronyism than it meaningfully solves a very real housing problem. I am very disappointed in this provincial government’s antediluvian plan to butcher the greenbelt for the sake of powerful developers who want Ford’s meek compliance in exchange for their political support. It’s a disgusting charade that makes a cynical mockery of the housing crisis continuing to face the GTA. All he is encouraging is more sprawl, infrastructural inefficiency and environmental degradation.
