Why is the focus always on developing land in the South? Leave the limited and protected green space in that area alone, there isn't enough of it as is! Crazy idea, but if you want people to settle in the "north" (anything above Parry Sound), then maybe we should invest there and actually make it a viable alternative. Thus providing simultaneous relief to the southern housing market AND developing the northern regions. Of course this would be contrary to the clear goal of continuing to open up protected lands for development merely so the rich can grow richer, and nobody else (you know, the regular folk who can't afford housing as it is) can actually afford to live there.
