I feel that there is no need to take over parts of the green belt in order to construct new homes as there is enough land available to build on already. As for the statements made that there will be a need for homes for new immigrants, these homes will probably not be affordable for them when they arrive and start to work and also not within travelling time. How many of theses new arrivals can afford a new house, along with a car to go to work as most of the employment will be in the city area, ie: Toronto.
The thought that you can replace one area of green belt with another is laughable and not based in science. There is already building in the area where the land is supposed to be replaced so how does that work to protect the land.
This government is destroying Ontario bit by bit and given the chance to do so, our province will be in a sad state of affairs. We are fortunate to have these wonderful wetlands and green belt areas and once they are gone, there will be no replacement.
