Ontario is in a housing crisis and we need to take it seriously.
Building into the greenbelt is not the way to do this. Please reconsider this.
Ontario needs to build housing in a way that makes sense with the simultaneous crises it’s citizens are facing.
The housing crisis, cost of living, and climate change crises are all important and happening simultaneously. To address them, we do not need more single family homes that will sentence their residents to a life of driving everywhere, in a neighbourhood that has nothing they can walk to.
We need to build up, not out!
I want to live in a bold Ontario, where we Re-imagine what having a family looks like in terms of housing. Why do force families with children to move to suburbs? Instead we should be building apartment and condo building with 3+ bedroom units that can support couples and families through multiple stages of life, and save our greenspaces to soak up carbon and protect nature.
