I am appalled that Ontario's cap and trade system may be dismantled. This is a completely irresponsible idea designed to help rich corporations and their shareholders make more short term profit and the expense of the rest of us and the future stability of our environment and economy.

Climate change is a real and present danger to our survival. Pretending otherwise won't change that.

Climate change is also going to force a reorganization of our economy. Elimination of carbon cap and trade will favour older, more entrenched segments of our economy at the expense of emerging industries such as renewable energy.

The rest of the world is making this transition already and if we don't accelerate our efforts forward ( instead of backward,which is where cancelling cap and trade will take us) we will fall behind and our economy will suffer down the road.

Don't allow Doug Ford to cave to his buddies,the rich industries entrenched in the old systems that damage the earth that we all share. Pollution of excess carbon or any other damaging substance should not be free for the offending party, as it is we, the citizens, who will pay the price in climate disasters, poor health, and a declining economy.

Wake up! The world is changing and if we do not adapt, we will pay an enormous price.
