These proposed changes to the Greenbelt are a step backwards. Rather than destroying valuable land and environments, the government needs to get more innovative with their housing policies and initiatives. Focus on creating more affordable, manageable housing projects e.g. tiny home/smaller home communities that the average person can afford rather than allowing more developers to build oversized massive housing that is beyond the average person's reach; make use of buildings that currently stand empty; follow the lead of Kitchener to change bylaws that allow for a second housing unit on existing properties.
Leave a more sensitive and smaller footprint on our valued land.
