I would like to state strong support for the Region of Waterloo’s official plan. As a former City Councillor in the City of Kitchener, I know the importance that the protected countryside is for our Region. Not only does it filter water for of aquifers but it is prime farmland farmed for many generations by local farmers including a strong Mennonite community. We need local food here in our community to help reduce the cost of food for those who are on fixed/limited income. The Region’s plan to create walkable communities is rooted in sustainability with our future generations in mind. We need to keep strong protection over our Greenbelt/ greenfield sites . Please support the Region’s official plan as is!
