Please approve Waterloo Region's Official Plan Amendment 6 as it was submitted, with no changes. After months of work and input from residents and groups across the entire region, it was overwhelmingly approved by all our municipalities and Regional government this past summer. It clearly represents the will and the interests of our Region's citizens and it would be anti-democratic for it to be undone by the Provincial Government, after our Region followed the process set out by the Province. Among many other benefits of this bold and visionary plan, it continues our current success and trajectory with sustainable, complete 15-minute walkable communities, more active transit, more public transit including Phase 2 and Phase 3 of iON LRT, more housing choice, more housing affordability, and better protection of farmland, groundwater, and green space.
