Government's job is to do the things that we as individuals can't. Effectively fighting climate change is one of those things. Climate change is also the single biggest issue facing us - but it requires real leadership to fight this fight. There are many people who don't see that the clean economy is the future, who don't see that food shortages, resources shortages and extreme weather events will cost business a lot more than meeting emission targets and will cause a lot more suffering to the people of Ontario than some short term increase in prices.

We are living unsustainably right now and that has to change now regardless of the short-term pain that may occur. You can either stand up and do the right thing for you and your children's future or you can ignore them in the mistaken hope that it will help you win the next election.

Please do the right thing. And then turn around and sell it to the people of Ontario. You will be a hero and go into the history books as someone who led us out of the disaster we are in right now.

* I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.
* I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint. Balance your carbon taxes with a reduction in personal income tax if you are worried about burdening the people of Ontario. Invest the income into sustainability innovation if you want Ontario to dominate the economy of the future.
* I want legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. Be an example for the rest of the country and the rest of the world.
* I want Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050. Oil and gas aren't as important to Ontario's economy as it is to other provinces. This is a chance for Ontario to become a world-leader in the clean economy.
* I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions. Look into that crystal ball and see that the clean economy is the future. You can win votes by going green and selling Ontarians on it with the facts of climate change and the green economy.
