I have been a resident of Oro-Medonte most of my life. In recent years I have become aware of how important the Oro Moraine is to the lives of humans, and wildlife - plants and animals- living on the moraine, near the moraine and even further afield. It has it's ripple effect on Lake Simcoe and even Georgian Bay. No one knows how much water is held within the aquafers of the Oro Moraine, no scientists, geologists, no one. We must protect this precious source of water and preserve the contents of the aquifers for our children's children, for seven generations as our Aboriginal neighbours teach us.
Please do not waste their heritage by taking all this much more water to wash your gravel.
