Please do not allow this Bill to pass into Law. Global warming is the most urgent environmental crisis in human history, we cannot stand idly by as Ontario fails to take appropriate action to mitigate climate change.

Based on the report from the IPCC (the international consortium of scientific experts on climate change) this past week, we are absolutely out of time. We need to make strong and meaningful changes to curtail fossil fuel use and move to renewable energy - NOW.

This doesn’t have to be an economic disaster for our province. On the contrary, B.C. has the strongest climate policies and has one of the best-performing economies in the country. Transitioning to investment in renewable energy makes good financial sense, because that is what the world must transition to, if we are to survive.

I urge you to consider the health and wellbeing of all Canadians, and particularly our children who will suffer immeasurably if we do not act now to curb the trajectory of global warming.
