My family has been here in Woodbridge since 1989. The beauty of it was the small city feel of it.
Toronto was my previous home. Up till 20 years ago we could leave cars unlock with valuables on the front seat, front doors unlock all day without alarm on, and children toys on driveway . New expansions to the city changed that. I could plant a huge garden in the backyard and compost. The Rutherford woods being torn down to built houses for people took away homes for Squirrels, skunks, raccoons, rabbits, and tree mice and birds. I know because they are living in my backyard now, I cant blame them, nor can I compost and grow lettuces . Did you put some land away for them - cause it was not enough. With the subway came high-rises that just don't stop. Alright, a few to house the next generation was reasonable but now the greed and lack of consideration that the mayor is showing to longtime residents in Vaughan is so evident. It is not a lack of vision, that residents who fight these rapid not thought out changes have; but it is the torpedoing of the vision we had and worked so hard to keep when we bought into the charm of Woodbridge. Please stop the approval of four apartment buildings on Langstaff that with bring traffic and congestion and pollution to my home.
