This has not been reviewed correctly and it appears the land owner is strategically using policy aimed to help the housing crisis as a business advantage.

Our neighbourhood will change significantly, I am a resident nearby, not to mention other impacts.

It is more logical to have this size development closer to the currently intensified downtown Vaughan core. There is ample vacant land in that area to accommodate a development such as this. I do not believe this is the right time to develop this area to this extent because traffic and commuting is already hindered and is not being remedied due to inadequate planning - this would exacerbate those issues. This development should be closer to highway 7. Although this development would be beside a highway, it’s already a battle to get to the highway and back home during rush hour in our area, the residents do not want this, I do not want this.

Secondly, the rushed approval process is clearly corrupt. Why were the residents not notified, why does due process seem to be missing? These are serious questions and it does not feel reassuring to think about our province allowing this process to be compromised - it’s sad really. The mayor is clearly siding with the landowner, why is he doing that so blatantly and despite his constituents wishes, is it because he stands for this from a policy standpoint ie. intensification as per the ‘17 Growth Plan and believes it’s sound, or is there another reason? I watched a video where at city hall this development was approved due to lack of opposition - this is unequivocally false, there were many letters and if anyone is asked their answer is obviously no. How can city hall act in good faith if their comments are false and actions based on those comments are therefore, in my opinion, wrong and borderline sickening, not to mention the legality.

I am disappointed, and as an individual that studied urban planning and understands nimbyism, I still due not agree or believe the due process surrounding this development is adequate.
