1000550049 Ontario Inc. - Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage)

This proposal is for an amended Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) to be issued to 1000550049 Ontario Inc., for the approval of mobile water treatment systems to serve various sites across Ontario.

The mobile treatment systems will treat water impacted with contaminants, including:

• petroleum hydrocarbons
• polyaromatic hydrocarbons
• heavy metals
• volatile organics compounds
• perfluorinated compounds (PFAS and PFOA)
• nitrogen
• phenols and/or phthalates

The mobile water treatment systems will comprise of a collection sedimentation tank, filtration tank, effluent measurement/monitoring and associated appurtenances, and are designed to meet the effluent requirements prior to discharge to existing roadside ditches, natural waterways or sewer infrastructure at a rate of up to 3,785 litres per minute.

The requested amendment includes the following changes:

• site location from Construction Sites or Brownfield Sites in Ontario to Anywhere in Ontario
• an increase to the approved discharge flow rate from 153 litres per minute to 3,785 litres per minute
• amendments to Table One: Contaminants to be Treated and Treatment Technologies Used - Chromium VI has Organo Clay now included. Zeolite has also been added to the column of the Table, and applicable metals have been selected
