Notice of Amendment to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal Class Environmental Assessment Document

Description of policy

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal (PIR) is proposing minor amendments to the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Process for Management Board Secretariat & Ontario Realty Corporation, approved in April 2004.

Purpose of policy

PIR has since become the successor ministry to the Management Board Secretariat (MBS) responsible for this Class EA process. The ministry is proposing minor amendments to the existing Class EA document which will include: (i) the recognition of the change in ministerial responsibility for this Class EA document from MBS to PIR, (ii) clarifications to the list of undertakings and facility groups and their definitions, (iii) change in the documentation requirement for Category A projects, and other minor administrative changes and corrections to the document to improve its overall clarity and function. Other public consultation opportunities

It should be noted that the Director of the Environmental Assessment and Approvals Branch of the Ministry of the Environment has determined that no formal consultation is required due to the administrative nature of the proposed minor amendments. The Director may consider any public comments received during this posting period prior to making a decision to approve the proposed minor amendments.
