I find billboards VERY distracting when driving. When the election signs are all over the place, it is hard to pay attention to my driving and there are far too many accidents already. I do not want more- I would prefer to see less advertising. Read more

I do not want big ads or billboards polluting our highways and her beautiful scenery. I think citizens should have the right to enjoy nature without companies and businesses trying to sell stuff. Not only that it's distracting for drivers and can cause accidents. [Original Comment ID: 205177]

I prefer to keep the highways and roads clear of advertisements. I don't feel the income generated by billboards is enough of a pro to offset the con of visual pollution. This is Canada, we should be able to appreciate the landscape as we drive. [Original Comment ID: 205197]

It will be a sad and disappointing day to spoil Canada's natural scenic beauty with unnecessary commercial clutter that will very likely not even generate new business for those advertising. I would resent those advertisers for tarnishing my experience of nature. It is a lose lose. Read more

I believe that third-party advertising should be limited as much as possible along highways and road systems, and that illegal or unlicensed third-party advertisers should be fined, issued take-down warrants, or prosecuted, depending on the nature of their violations. Read more

Please, please do not put distracting signs on the highway. For one - it is incredibly unsafe. Both of my parents commute for over an hour a day to get from East Gwillimbury to their jobs in the city, often through incredibly awful weather. I want them to be safe! Read more

I do not think ONTARIO needs additional billboards. Further, additional lighting to existing billboards should not increase. No moving picture or rapid change in picture should be allowed. A picture change once per hour should be maximum rate acceptable. Read more

Please refrain from crowding our highways with billboards. We don't need more advertising to distract drivers, which will both spoil the scenery on our long commutes and create safety challenges for all on the roads! [Original Comment ID: 205250]
