Ontario can do far more than is proposed in the discussion paper. Firstly, Ontario should adopt a "Route Verte" or "Bicycle Greenway" plan for Ontario, with provincial networks that conform to set engineering standards such as Quebec's. Read more

Supporting cycling infrastructure is critical to reducing emissions and reducing effects of carbon on climate. One only has to look at other countries to see the positive effects. Many municipalities in Ontario do not put a priority on cycling. Read more

I encourage the province to prioritize projects that involve segregated infrastructure, closing gaps in current incomplete networks, and building high-density, high-quality cycling networks that will attract many people to ride. Read more
