This proposal was for a renewable energy approval for the construction, installation, operation, use and retiring of a Class 3 solar facility, with a total name plate capacity of 6.75 megawatts (MW). The facility was proposed by Invenergy Solar Canada Development GP Limited and titled Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Solar Project.
On July 15, 2019, Invenergy Solar Canada Development GP Limited requested to formally withdraw their Renewable Energy Approval application. We have withdrawn the application and closed the file.

Description of instrument
This posting is for a proposed Renewable Energy Approval by Invenergy Solar Canada Development GP Limited, as general partner for and on behalf of LSRA Solar Energy Partnership, for the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (LSRA) Solar Project. The project is proposed to be located on 21 hectares of Lake Simcoe Regional Airport lands, within the Township of Oro-Medonte, Simcoe County. Electrical lines will also be located within municipal road allowances. This is a Class 3 solar facility with a total expected generation capacity of 6.75 megawatts (MW).
The proposed facility is considered to be a Class 3 solar facility under the Renewable Energy Approvals Regulation (O. Reg. 359/09) under Part V.0.1 of the Environmental Protection Act. Applications for Renewable Energy Approvals are required to be submitted in accordance with the Renewable Energy Approvals Regulation for consideration for approval.

This comment period is for the public to review the proposal and provide comments and input directly to the ministry.
Within 10 days after the posting of this instrument proposal notice, the proponent will: (1) publish a notice in the local newspaper to advise the public that this proposal has been posted on the environmental registry for comment; and (2) make available copies of any documents submitted as part of the application by posting the documents on the proponent’s website, if the proponent has a website. Note that this requirement is set out in sections 15.1 and 15.2 of the Renewable Energy Approvals Regulation.
