I strongly support a cap and trade policy and do NOT wish to see the program cancelled. If cap and trade revenues are redistributed they harm only the polluters, not ordinary citizens who are trying to reduce pollution to reduce our emissions. Read more

The Cap and Trade implementation is probably the best thing that happened to Ontario in the last 10 years. Cancelling the program is a step backwards. If Mr Ford wants to replace the Cap and Trade system with something better...great...but in the meantime, let the program continue!

I am adamantly opposed to this Bill. Cap and trade is a proven method to reduce carbon emissions and this is NECESSARY to save our environment and mitigate climate change. Ontario is already not doing enough to combat climate change and this Bill is completely wrong-headed. Read more

As a student and a young person, Ontario's environment is my future. Without clean air, water, soil, how will future generations prosper like those have done in the past. I run everyday down the Rideau canal since moving from Burlington for school. Read more

Climate change is real and it's effects are upon us already. We need to take action now. It will take more than a carbon tax. We must have that in place and we must also remove any and all subsidies to fossil fuel extraction and use. We must also put in place hard, reducing caps on all emissions. Read more

Climate change is going to have detrimental impacts on human health, global ecosystems, and food resources and there is overwhelming and widespread evidence that human activities are causing climate change. Current emission levels no longer make it plausible to avoid the impacts of climate change. Read more

I am extremely opposed to cancelling this program. The impacts of climate change due to carbon are undeniable and eliminating these measures would mean huge environmental setbacks that are irreversibile. Reconsider your actions and promote green energy by keeping carbon cap and trade laws!

The decision to repeal Cap & Trade is one based on false rhetoric and misinformation. Under the auspices that it's costing us too much money, I assure you that the costs of not addressing climate change will 2, 3 or 4 fold. There is a cost to climate change one way or another. Read more

I am in shock that my provincial government would cancel a nation wide plan to fight climate change at this or any other time! We must do everything we can NOW to ensure a safe and secure future for ourselves, our children and their children. Read more

On the day after an economist has shown paying for pollution works, one week after the un report showing we have 12 years left to act. Even still considering cancelling the cap and trade act shows an ignorance and worse blind oblivion to what awaits the next generation. Read more
