Scientists are the canaries in the coal mine. We must not ignore their warnings. Cancelling cap and trade is irresponsible. We must become better stewards of our planet. Future generations are relying on us.
I do not feel that repealing the existing legislation is in the best interest of Ontario residents, Canadians, or citizens of the world. The decision here will impact not just Ontario but all residents (man or beast) of our ecosphere.

Do not repeal cap and trade. It is a program that has been proven to work in other jurisdictions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions AND stimulate the economy. While conservative governments may not care about the former, they care greatly about the latter.

Given that in our lifetimes we will see Climate Change disastrously change our ability to live on the only planet we have, this is shameful.
The Ford government’s inability to listen or represent the people of Ontario in this and so many other matters, is shameful.
Ontarians worked hard to achieve this plan, with over 1,500 people attending consultations in 14 communities all across the province and thousands more giving feedback online. Premier Ford wants to destroy something with widespread support.

I want a real climate change plan to reduce emissions, help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy. It’s essential to act now for future generations.
Please do not cancel cap and trade. It holds corporations responsible for pollution, and we need something to do this. I’m worried about climate change and how it will impact us and our kids in the near future. We are already seeing it’s effects with wildfires across Canada this past year.

Keep cap and trade! It gives incentives to businesses that are greener (which we need) and allows other businesses time to adjust to greener options slowly enough to not negatively affect their profitability.

The dissolution of this cap and trade is ridiculous. Cap and trade is not perfect, but it is a working, viable tool for all Ontarians to participate, through free market mechanisms, in reducing the burden of pollutants we are putting into the air.

I support carbon tax and other measures to address climate change. As Canadians we must take action and respond quickly to warnings and observations from the United Nations and from our scientists in Canada and around the world. Carbon tax is a positive way to do so!
Climate change is the biggest threat to face our species, and is being largely ignored by our government leaders. What use is a thriving economy that has come at the expense of our children’s quality of life?
