I think it's absolutely heinous that the government is cancelling a program designed not only to help tackle one of the world's - and Ontario's - most pressing crises of global climate change, but that would also have incentivized the rapid growth of low-carbon industries, increasing job creation an Read more

As a business owner I am just shocked that the provincial government would roll back the Cap & Trade legislation. Given the undeniable realities of climate change, stopping this initiative without having a solid replacement is just criminal. Read more

I am strongly against cancelling the cap and trade act. People who do this are not concerned about the environment but only on trying to win votes at any cost. If we want to preserve our country and our world for our children and grandchildren, we will keep this act as it is. Read more

I disagree vehemently with this proposal. Cap and trade and carbon taxes are proven methods for reducing CO2 output. The Cap and trade system puts the onus on industrial emitters whereas a carbon tax directly costs everyone who uses products, mostly fossil fuels, that produce CO2 emissions. Read more

This is an absolute terrible idea to cancel the Ontario Cap and Trade program. The Program brings in revenue to the government which will now be lost. Not to mention the detrimental effects it will have on the environment by allowing carbon emitters to emit as much carbon as they want. Read more

I strongly disagree with the government's decision to remove the cap and trade program. The world is moving in the direction of sustainable development and creating a market in which the externalities of carbon emission can be captured is essential to staying at the forefront of change. Read more
