This is one of the few good moves the government has made - targeting the biggest polluters. And, because most cars that are old, have been manufactured under more recent pollution control guidelines (that is they were made after 2000) they pass or come close to passing. Read more

We need to maintain high emissions standards for passenger and light duty vehicles in Ontario. In areas of high population density we already are paying the price in terms of health effects. I want to be able to walk outside without having to wear a filtration mask so let's keep our air clean. Read more

Thank you Ontario PC's and Premier Ford, this change is well overdue. Let's focus on the largest (commercial) polluters and take the carbon tax away from the average Mom'n Pop mid-size sedan. More money back at the discretion of the middle class!

The Drive Clean Programme was a good idea that should not be cancelled. If owners of light vehicles know that their vehicles will no longer be tested, then there is no reason for them to keep the vehicle's' emission equipment up to standards. Read more

While I agree that the Drive Clean program may have reached its maximum effectiveness in its current set up, more needs to be done to ensure it wasn't all for naught. How are you prepared to ensure cars continue to reduce emissions? Read more

Because of the Climate Emergency we now undoubtedly face and in support of a livable future for our children and their children, emissions testing should be retained and strengthened for all trucks and heavy duty vehicles in Ontario.

Hi I think we should continue doing Emission test For at least a year or two till we r sure most of the old cars are either working fine or removed from Ontario's Roads Since vehicles in Ontario can't get two consecutive conditional pass Read more

I realize that standards in the automobile industry may have improved, but not all the cars on the road are newly built. The program required that cars older than 7 years were mandated to have an emission test. Read more
