We are in a time of unexpected water shortages around the world. Multinationals are quietly buying up properties in many countries that are known to have large aquifers. This is a dangerous trend since whoever “owns” the water has the power to withhold it.

Nestle is not only a disgusting wasteful giant they are robbing local Canadians of their free water! How DARE YOU (our government) give away our ‘oil’ and force us to pay hi amounts and live with high costs of living!

I am very concerned about the corporate privatization of Canada's water.
Our federal government must take action against such incursions on local communities such as those in southern Ontario which have been INVADED BY NESTLÉ.

We must stop giving precious public water to corporations such as Nestle to sell back to us at exorbitant prices in environment destroying water bottles. Protect the water for the communities that depend on it.

Your proposal is a small start towards this ‘business’ practice being curtailed. It is insane that our society condones the pollution of the trucking industry transporting to all corners of the continent drinking water packaged in non reusable plastic containers.

These corporations such as Nestle are being allowed to steal our most valuable asset with the co-operation of our government. This is a double threat as the water is sold in single-use plastic bottles which pollute our oceans.

Instead of an extension, there should be a full stop, to give the Ministry time to further advance the ministry's understanding of the water resources in the province, with a particular focus on groundwater takings by water bottling facilities.
Our water resources are limited. Allowing companies to bottle and distribute water outside our watershed depletes our long term resources. Please take the time to review this carefully. Corporations must not dictate our future or we won’t have one.

Please extend the moratorium on new or increasing permits on taking ground water for purposes of bottling it. This practice of taking ground for these purposes must stop. The water belongs to the people, not to companies for purposes of selling it for commercial purposes, much less in bottles.

Nestle or any other water bottling company should not be allowed to continue to take water from communities without updated permits. Bottling free water and selling it back to people is unconscionable. The government needs to stop big companies like Nestle from taking advantage of communities.
I am strongly in agreement on extending the moratorium. I cannot understand how it is allowed that corporations are allowed to bottle water in single serving size plastic water bottles at the ridiculously low water rates that they are charged.

Not only should you extend the moratorium on water bottling permits, you need to stop the for-profit companies from continuing to extract our life giving water.
It is of the utmost importance that we protect our life sustaining ground water for all. Now and future generations have the right to this resource, not vile, greed obsessed, self absorbed corporations and share holders such as Nestle.

As a resident of Erin, ON with a water processing site a mere 5 km away I worry for the future of our community. Water is a public trust, and not a commodity to be sold. We may not see the ramifications of this but i guarantee our children will if we don't make changes now.
