Good to see the government finally taking action on this important matter. Removing water as a commodity in trade agreements would be the best way to preserve water as a life force. At the very least charging so much that it is no longer profitable is a good step in the mean time.

I am supportive of this proposal to extend the current moratorium on new or increasing permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water to January 1, 2020.

It is the responsible thing to do for our future and the future of our children. I am proud to say I have not used bottled water for the past 2 years. We need to get out of the mind set that it's better water. We need to learn to be more responsible for our water.

Our drinking water is precious and becoming quickly endangered.
If MORE ground water is taken and bottled it is contributing to MORE plastic in our systems and our oceans.
We MUST stop the raping of our planet for the growth of industries like Nestle.

Thank you for continuing this study. Hopefully it will lead to the phasing put and end of these virtually free water-pumping permits for giant multi-nationals.

I think that taking the amount of water out of the Elora and Aberfoil areas is a travesty. It should never have been allowed in the first place. The government is giving away our most precious, life-giving resource for peanuts.

Absolutely no ground water should be sold to any company for bottling. This is a public resource which should be maintained and protected by the government on behalf of its people. We are not only protecting it for ourselves by doing this but for future generations.

Allowing corporations to take groundwater is egregious for a variety of reasons and doesn't benefit future generations/wildlife and should be completely banned. The impact is tenfold on lowering the water table, streams, rivers and marshes thus effecting wildlife.

This moratorium on water bottling permits should absolutely be extended, until a thorough, unbiased, comprehensive review can be done. Groundwater is critical to many Ontario communities and should not be compromised by large corporations looking to profit off of this most basic, critical resource.
Using this water not only removes and damages groundwater systems but also contributes to pollution in the worst possibe way as it forces the use of plastic bottles which are a huge eco-hazard
I believe the government should be looking at sustainable business practices throughout the province and beyond nationally and internationally. Following frameworks like the •The Natural Step Story: Seeding a Quiet Revolution, Karl-Henrik Robert, New Catalyst Books (2008), ISBN 978-1897408148

I think the water bottling practice needs to be banned unless there is another form of bottling water. Why not use biodegradable products such as hemp as an alternative to plastic? Serious consideration should be looked into this and why not.

Firstly, when corporations take water, we should PROFIT from it, not just cover the cost of regulation. We should also implement an environmental tax on bottled beverages. Would that make some business less profitable? Yes. But that's the point.

I believe most strongly that this proposal should be extended and indeed increased. Bottlers should be charged a realistic amount for the water they take and sell at great profit.
