On October 15, 2019, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 336/19 to permit the development of a 224-bed capacity long-term care home, together with accessory uses, buildings and structures, on a property in the Municipality of Clarington

Why consultation isn't required

Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights Act,1993 does not apply to a proposal to make a Minister's Zoning Order under subsection 47(1) of the Planning Act, or to amend or revoke a Zoning Order under subsection 47(8) of the Planning Act

Details of Bulletin

A Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, regulates the use of land and the erection, location and use of any building or structure on the land. Ontario Regulation 336/19 identifies zoning criteria for the permitted uses of a 224-bed long-term care home, together with accessory uses, buildings and structures on the subject lands. This Zoning Order applies to lands in Part of Lot 18, Concession 2 in the Municipality of Clarington.
