I believe the Ministry has had since December 2017 to "come up" with a long term proposal for cottagers at Rondeau Provincial Park. It is hard to understand why an additional 3 years is required to find this solution considering that Algonquin has received their extension in December 2017. Read more

I feel that the cottagers at Rondeau hold an important place in the history of the park. They too are stakeholders in the park and as such the vast majority do their part as ambassadors of this wonderful park. It would be a shame to see this park without the cottagers there

Extending the leases is very short-sighted. Rondeau has the greatest number of endangered speies of any Ontario park, so preserving the land in it's most natural biodiverse state is paramount. These leases should be phased out as originally planned. Please do not extend the leases!

Cottages have been in Rondeau Park for over 100 years and the ecology is fine. It is not true that cottages (occupying less than one per cent of the Park) are spoiling it. The cottages should stay in perpetuity. Glad they are getting a new lease.
