Proposed changes to the black bear hunting regulations are a grave error in judgement. The people in charge of making these changes obviously know nothing about black bears and a spring bear hunt will leave numerous bear cubs abandoned and left to starve to death. Read more

I fully support the spring bear hunt. The bear population in Ontario is healthy enough to support a managed hunt, and the spring hunt is vital to the economy in Northern Ontario. Many tourist operators would be forced to close their doors if the spring hunt is cancelled. Thank you.

Please reconsider the proposal for the spring bear hunt. It is beyond cruel to leave orphan cubs to starve to death. And don't tell me females with cubs won't be killed because they do leave their cubs alone at times and can be mistaken for males. Read more
