As a resident of Ontario, I am completely opposed to this proposal which would only serve to further the suffering of wildlife. I would expect the Government of Ontario to be working hard to wind down all such operations, and instead there is a consultation on opening new ones. Read more

This antiquated practice should be banned. Not only should new permits not be issued but the 24 in existence should be shut down. All animals play an important role in keeping the earth healthy and ultimately humans need all animals to thrive in their natural environment without molestation. Read more

These facilities need to be reduced, not expanded. There is no benefit to increasing the number of training facilities that train dogs to kill. We need to be expanding our conservation efforts, particularly for keystone species like canids, not expanding methods to harm them.

When I came to live in Canada twenty years ago, I thought I came to a country that respects all forms of life and does its best to protect innocent animals. This proposal just appalled me. It is 2023. We need to start being more humane. We shouldn’t go backwards! Please do the right thing! Read more

Please do not open any more train and trial facilities of this nature. Wildlife should never be removed from their own habitat and be used for this purpose, it is barbaric. Leave the wildlife alone!!

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Read more

This should not be allowed. It is cruel to the wildlife. I am.not against hunting. I am a bow hunter. But I believe in kindness to the prey. There are many artificial things that can be used in lieu of real animals. Please do NOT allow this penned training on wildlife go ahead.

Please reconsider opening this 90 day application. Hunting pens are cruel and inhumane. Wild foxes, coyotes and rabbits held in captivity are subjected to intolerable abuse and cruelty. These pens should never be allowed in today's society. Read more

Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold competitions. I’m disgusted this is even being considered Read more
