I am very against bill 23 and this will absolutely influence my voting decisions for the rest of my life should it go through. Please protect Ontario's wetlands.
These regulations are already too weak. Any changes that result in a reduction of protection wetlands (even inadvertently) should be abandoned and changes should be made to increase the amount of wetlands protected.
Wetlands of any kind are not where we should be building new housing stock.

Bill 23 must be rewritten in order to maintain FULL Environmental Protection of ALL wetlands in the Quinte Conservation region. The decrease to 1%, as it currently reads, is absolutely unacceptable.
Bill 23 must be stopped immediately. In Ontario we can not legislate common sense or Bill 23 would have never been proposed. Apart from all of the environmental reasons, and there are so many, building in the Greenbelt just doesn't make sense. We need to conserve this farmland.

We have a water quality crisis that is occurring and wetlands are the most important Natural Heritage Asset that we need to protect as they filter containments from water sources and help with flood management issues which we will be up against when dealing with future climate change impacts.

I am appalled at this proposal. We need to protect our wetlands to the greatest degree. There is absolutely no need to build in such areas. Concentrate instead on low rise infill in cities and towns.
The impacts discussed in the ERO posting are notably silent with regards to analysis of the significant negative environmental, social and economic impacts related to wetland loss. The public requests that this analysis be conducted and further justification be provided related to this posting.
