Greatly disagree with removing or modifying the green belt, we require our green lands, swamps and natural zones. Consider the impact on wildlife that are already being pushed around and have such reduced land or have to suffer our constant sounds and lights!
I am very disappointed to hear that the greenbelt is being opened up for housing. We were promised that they wouldn’t do so and they are going back on their word.
It is a treasured part of Ontario and destroying it will have many effects such as:
- destruction of habitats

Thank you for allowing the public to comment on this project. I truly hope the government listens and considers our concerns seriously.
Please do not further disrupt the greenbelt. Please simply leave the land as is. We have already destroyed enough of the environment.

Curbing urban sprawl, protecting agricultural land and promoting long-term economic growth has resulted in changes to how we plan, build and live in our communities.

This is dangerous. We need to keep our natural protected areas safe. These developments are going to be under water. We don’t need more suburbs or highways built by profit drivin corporations that don’t prioritize sustainability or fighting climate change.

No. The Green belt MUST be protected at all costs. Doug Ford is trying to line him and his buddies’ pockets against the overwhelming will of the people. He tried to take away the right to strike and embarrassed himself with how tone def and out of touch he was.

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing should consult and work with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority to independently assess the impact of the proposed change prior to enacting any changes to the existing Greenbelt Plan.

I strongly oppose the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. This will 100% affect my political stance and I will continue to raise support in opposition to this proposal.

The Green Belt is supposed to curb urban sprawl and is not land “waiting to be used”. Considering southern Ontario has very poor public transit infrastructure in place as it is, we should be considering redeveloping underused land that is NOT within the green belt space.

The GreenBelt was established as --protected-- land around the city of Toronto to be enjoyed by the citizens of the city and residents of the GTA and Southern Ontario. This was a convenant made with the people of Ontario.

I urge the premier to:
- withdraw the plan to remove lands from the Greenbelt;
- get on with a meaningful Greenbelt expansion that reflects public input - repeatedly promised but never delivered by the Ford government;

No municipality in Ontario needs this top-down directive of how and where to expand residential builds because many of us already found the solution.

This is nothing but a way for the Ford government to help enrich their crooked benefactors by raising the value of land they previously bought for cheap.

Hello, my partner and I do not support the proposed changes to the Greenbelt due to the negative environmental impacts. We believe there are other ways to increase housing supply for the Greater Toronto Area (e.g. intensification) without destroying Ontario's natural heritage.

At no time should any current protected area be removed from protection for any reason. The area was set aside for positive environmental reasons and that has not changed. If anything the need for protection is even greater as climate change is causing challenges on our natural environment.
