The Greenbelt is an essential habitat for hundreds of species. Specifically in this case, the Paris Galt Moraine area provides critical habitat and one that CANNOT be replaced.

Dear Premier Ford,
Four years ago, your plans to carve up the Greenbelt had to be scrapped in the face of overwhelming public opposition.
At that time, you said: “The people have spoken. We won’t touch the Greenbelt. That’s it.”

The Greenbelt is protected land. These lands are gorgeous & don’t need to be removed for more housing. Soon enough we won’t have anywhere to go to look at nature
I cannot emphasize how much I disagree with these amendments to the Greenbelt. The current provincial government promised that they would not build on Greenbelt lands, I voted based on that promise. Yet, these amendments are allowing developers to build on Greenbelt land.

Build UP, not OUT
The greenbelt must remain protected and not used for single family residences. The world needs the trees and natural waterways. Stop trying to destroy Ontario
Do not, under any condition, use up more of our natural land for your greedy needs. Focus on the current houses that are sitting empty or run down areas that need financial support to boost their area and habituation.

Please do not destroy our environment. Our homes and streets will flood if homes are built on the greenbelt. Tear down unused commerical buildings if there is such a need for housing
What Ontario does not need is more urban sprawl. Focus on adding density to our already built on areas and leave this green space alone for us and our future generations to enjoy. There are many cities with building and lots vacant that would be ideal for multi-level condos or apartments.

I really believe that we should be working to build housing in areas that don’t impact the environment so negatively. The Green belt was promised to be safe and in touched, that promise should not be broken. This land is necessary to preserve our province and environment.

I believe that the Greenbelt should be left as is. It provides ecological functions that keeps Ontarians. I believe that should densify cities instead of spreading out.
I am absolutely against this bill. How dare you rip apart the magnificent Green Belt when Toronto is littered with single unit housing. Change the zoning laws in Toronto to allow duplexes and triplexes.
