We have been learning much about colonization on this land, in the past couple of decades. Our government keeps apologizing for its mistakes and promising to make changes that will address the damage we have done and continue to do.

The Ford government needs to be stopped. The development of the Greenbelt will enrich his friends while depriving future generations of a peaceful ontario sanctuary of nature.
Incredibly irresponsible and short-sighted. Great way to line Doug Ford's donors pockets and help the rich become richer. There is plenty of other land available to develop, there is absolutely no reason to destroy such an important ecological feature of Ontario.

There has to be a better way than getting rid of what was supposed to be protected land. I don't trust that this government is making choices in the best interests of the public. This feels lazy and shady.
The green belt needs to be protected. That was the promise of Doug Ford, which b eds to kept. This is irresponsible policy that only benefits developers, and hurts Ontario.
This bill should be withdrawn, for the following reasons:
1) Developing agricultural land has a negative impact on local food supply and food affordability, at a time of high inflation.

This proposal is an absolute sham and borderline criminal. It is particularly insulting as it stands to enrich developpers with NO GUARANTEE of benefits to the public. PUBLIC LAND SHOULD SERVE THE PUBLIC. If it is to be developped, it should be guaranteed community housing / afforbable housing.

Why is the focus always on developing land in the South? Leave the limited and protected green space in that area alone, there isn't enough of it as is!

I'm fully against the destruction of the Green belt, and the blatant corruption of the Ford government acting to enrich a few elites. The new highways and housing projects don't serve any adequate public service, like increasing housing density.
I am completely disgusted with this decision. I've lived in Ontario my whole life and for the first time think I might move. I will do everything in my power to convince friends, family, and anyone I meet to never vote Conservative again. This was a step too far.
I am against expansion into the green belt. Please consider the "Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force" and consider changing the intent to build single-occupancy homes and instead build multi-occupancy homes. The current urban sprawl in the GTA is not efficiently using its land.

Urban sprawl is terrible for the environment and traffic.
Preserve our green space and density existing urban areas.
Doug Fords reversal of his campaign promises has turned me away from this government and he cannot rely on my vote again come election.
I don't agree with this plan. Is this really the best way to get more homes built in Ontario? Come on guys, why don't you even try to get the general public to like you? It can't be that hard.
Plenty of areas in other areas of Ontario to build housing. What we really need is AFFORDABLE housing. These new subdivisions are the complete opposite of affordable housing.
